Features such as data binding, Right-To-Left support, or theming are available out of the box. Furthermore, most of the controls are available in the open source licensed version of SAPUI5 called OpenUI5. Control development is the central topic of the Foundation Controls team, which is located in Walldorf. The strategic direction of the team is the development of composite controls, that is, controls that are based on more elementary controls. We're looking for an enthusiastic software engineer, who will work with the team to develop appealing controls in the high quality expected of SAP products. EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
After the initial on-the-job training you will:
- Develop SAPUI5 controls by using modern browser standards, such as HTML 5, CSS3 and AJAX
- Apply agile software methodologies, such as test driven development
- Take over responsibility for design, implementation, testing, and maintenance according to the prioritization of the backlog
- Enable SAPUI5 controls to run on mobile devices
- Contribute to the community work for SAPUI5
- Actively participate in customer co-innovation
- Work in a highly motivated team according to scrum methodology
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Entry level
- 1-2 years practical experience in the Web UI development (for example, jQuery or browser specifics) is a plus
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Good Bachelor's, Master's, or other degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
- Good knowledge in object-oriented programming languages, preferably Java
- Knowledge in the development and the architecture of web frameworks with JavaScript, HTML. NodeJS, OData V4 and CSS is a plus
- Very good communication skills in German and English (written and spoken)
- Strong analytical and presentation skills
- Strong team player with good communication skills
- High commitment to quality, reliability, and a self-motivating style of working
