We are looking for an experienced leader to build a new team that drives User Experience (UX) excellence into all the products SAP makes for its customers. Global Design team's designers will engage deeply with various product groups to understand their product intent and customer needs it is addressing to provide guidance and leadership back to the product groups. You will engage in UX reviews, which includes interaction design + visual design + branding, and help identify key problem areas and discover opportunities for improvements. The team will track design trends, technologies and best practices and bring them into the organization as meaningfully as possible. The team will also help maintain product brand continuity across all SAP LOBs. The team will also have a third party resources available to teams when design resource support is required. In order to make sure that we are solving the right problems, Design Thinking approaches will be applied in close collaboration during all engagements.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
- Your primary responsibilities will include collaboration with interaction designers & product owners to define the product vision
- Refine the visual identity of all SAP products
- Identify reusable visual design patterns
- Create variety of application themes
- Create of information graphics + icons
- Your work will span across devices, bringing the user experience to life; your innovative ideas and designs will be invaluable here. As a contributing member of our design team, you will also be in a position to influence the user experience for SAP's products.
- Though you will spend the most of your time designing product appearances appropriate to the products under review and its related apps, there will also be opportunities to apply your design proficiencies into print and branding work.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- 1-5 years visual design experience with large-scale rich internet applications and web site projects, as well as consumer mobile applications
- Experience producing final art in Adobe Fireworks/ Photoshop/ Illustrator
- Extensive experience delivering fully-specified final art for development implementation
- Experience with print (paper and ink) a plus
- Illustration experience also a huge plus
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- An exceptional portfolio that demonstrates a varied range of work & vibrant creativity with a strong consumer orientation
- Able to turn concepts into concrete visuals quickly, then rapidly iterate those sketches into polished final designs
- Actively contribute to product brainstorming and interaction design sessions
- Create and manage a rich and deep library of UI screen assets to enable swift creation of mockups and prototypes as well as finished products
- Proven success working on concept, interface and visual designs for innovative large-scale projects, actively collaborating within a cross-functional team.
- Deep understanding of user interface and interaction design
- Up-to-the-minute knowledge of graphic trends in mobile, web, print, and motion design
- Passionate about visual design
- Able to think and work beyond the appearance
- Love of continuous learning and growth
